Mark 4:19 - “but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.”
Do you remember the old Sesame Street song about identifying differences? The song says “One of these things is not like the other. One of these things just doesn’t belong.” The characters on the show would have 4 objects that look very similar, and the object of the game was to identify the one item that looks like the others, but is slightly different.
Psalm 16:8, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
It seemed like the lane I was in had the slowest drivers ever. Our lane seemed to creep and crawl forward, yet it seemed the lanes on either side of me were moving ahead much faster.
“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” - Ephesians 5:8 AMP
So there’s this netflix show that has a lot of people going crazy. Young people are in love with it, adults block out a whole day to watch the full season, and some parents pray over their children because they think it’s demonic. This show is called, Stranger Things.
1 Samuel 3:10 “The Lord came and stood there, calling as the other times, “Samuel, Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening”.
The story of Samuel being called by God for the first time is a very powerful one. Although Samuel was very young and he didn’t know God (although he knew church), God still chose Samuel, as is, to be the one to speak such a life changing prophecy to Eli.
